Looking for clear answers about your custom metal credit card upgrade? This custom metal credit card FAQ covers everything from EMV chip swaps and design options to payment security and warranty policies. Whether you’re upgrading for style or status, we’ve got you covered.

What is Metal-CreditCard.com and what do you sell?

Metal-CreditCard.com is a custom metal card service that transforms your existing debit or credit card into a premium metal card using laser engraving and EMV chip swap technology. We are not a bank—we simply upgrade your card’s body while keeping its functionality* intact.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do you accept Bitcoin?

Yes! We accept Bitcoin®, PayPal®, Venmo®, Apple Pay®/Cash®, Zelle®, and all major credit cards through PayPal’s secure guest checkout. We do not allow instant website checkout to prevent fraud and reduce impulse purchases. Once you submit your order, you will receive a confirmation email with payment instructions. Your order is not considered active or in progress until payment is received.

How safe is your card upgrade process?

All card upgrades are performed on offline, secure laboratory terminals. Clients must send in frozen, locked, or unactivated cards. MCC does not store any personal card data. Our service is backed by a 180-day comprehensive warranty and optional Extended Protection Plans.

Is Metal-CreditCard.com affiliated with my bank?

No. MCC is not affiliated with any financial institutions. We operate similarly to check-printing companies, providing custom personalization services for your existing bank-issued card.

What is the EMV Chip Swap™ and why is it important?

Our EMV Chip Swap™ process involves transferring your chip from your plastic card into the upgraded metal card. This allows your card to work at chip-enabled payment terminals and ATMs. Without this swap, many merchants will not complete the transaction.

Can I customize my metal credit card?

Yes! Our design team will work with you directly via email. You can provide custom artwork, logos, text, and layout preferences. We’ll provide PDF previews and revise them until you approve the final design. No artwork is sent to production without your sign-off.

What is your return and warranty policy?

Standard metal cards can be returned within 30 days. Custom engraved cards are final sale, but all cards are protected by a 180-day comprehensive warranty that covers defects, malfunctions, and chip issues.

What happens when my plastic card expires?

Your metal card will expire on the same date as your original card. Once you receive a new plastic card, you’ll need to place a new order for an upgrade. Returning customers receive a 20% discount—just ask for the current promo code!

Do you offer military or veteran discounts?

Absolutely. We offer a 20% discount to veterans, active military, and law enforcement. Email a redacted proof of service to [email protected] to receive your exclusive discount code before placing your order.

I recently upgraded my card with MCC but my bank sent me a replacement. Do I have to buy another metal card?

If your bank sends you a replacement card within six months of your purchase, we’ll replace your metal card under warranty. Just contact our support team to initiate your claim at [email protected].

I’m worried about my metal card becoming useless after just a few months. What do I do?

We understand the concern. If your plastic card is replaced early due to fraud or other reasons, we’ll evaluate your case and offer a solution under warranty. We strive to make sure every customer is taken care of.

How long does the process take if I’m out of state?

Processing time is typically under 7 business days for U.S. orders. International shipping may vary. You’ll receive a free USPS Priority label via email if you’re within the U.S.

Do you need my ID to verify my order?

No. We rely on secure third-party payment platforms like PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and Apple Pay, which conduct their own verification. MCC never requires your ID.

Can I order a black metal card with no numbers or info?

No. We must engrave real, functional data from your bank-issued card to create a working metal card. We do not produce fake, blank, or non-functional cards. This is against our policy and federal law.

Why do I have to send in my card if I live out of state?

Your metal card cannot function without the EMV chip and magnetic strip data from your original card. These components must be transplanted in our lab. This applies to all clients, regardless of location.

Will you return my original card after the upgrade?

Yes. We return your original plastic card inside the same package as your finished metal card. Your property is never retained or discarded.

I’m nervous about mailing my debit card. Is it safe?

We never include the company name on our shipping labels, and we provide free USPS Priority labels with tracking. Our lab and PO box are secured by armed personnel. For your safety, use an unactivated or locked card.

Will my original plastic card still work?

If your chip is removed during the upgrade, the plastic card will no longer work for EMV transactions. Otherwise, it can still be used as a backup, though we’re confident you’ll want to use your metal card everywhere!

If I upgrade my debit card, will my PIN still work?

Yes! Your PIN, account number, and card function remain unchanged. The metal upgrade is purely cosmetic and does not alter your card’s backend data.

I live in Florida. Am I considered out-of-state for shipping?

Yes, all clients—including those in Florida—are considered “out-of-state” for processing purposes. We’ll email you a free USPS Priority shipping label. Average turnaround is under 7 business days.

Do you have a local pickup or showroom?

No. MCC does not offer in-person pickups or showrooms. All orders are processed exclusively through the mail for security and consistency.

Can I upgrade more than one card?

Yes. You may submit multiple orders—one for each bank-issued debit or credit card you wish to upgrade. Each card must be submitted separately.

How does the custom card design process work?

After your order, our design team will reach out within 12–24 hours. You can provide sketches, images, and text instructions. You’ll receive PDF previews and collaborate directly until you approve the final design.

Are there any design limitations?

Yes. MCC does not engrave in color or create exact replicas of existing cards. Black & white vector files are preferred. Our team will guide you on what’s possible during the design phase.

Will my metal card include the Visa/Mastercard logo?

Yes. If you request the card type in your order form (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.), our production team will engrave the correct logo onto your custom card.

Can I duplicate my current credit or debit card design?

We do not create exact copies due to legal and technical limitations. However, our designers can closely approximate most layouts using engraving techniques.

Can I order a replica of an Amex Centurion or Black Card?

We do not make official replicas, but you can create your own artistic version. Visit our Replica Info Page to learn what’s allowed and what’s not.

Do I have to include the words DEBIT or CREDIT on my card?

No. You can choose to omit “Debit” or “Credit” labels when selecting a template. Just select “Do not label” in the dropdown menu during ordering.

Can I engrave my initials in color?

No color engraving is possible. However, on Matte Black cards, the engraving produces a golden-bronze effect. You can still add your initials, logo, or name.

Can I submit my own font for the card design?

Yes! You can select a font from DaFont.com and provide the name to our design team. We’ll download and use it for your custom metal card layout.

How does the material of your cards compare to luxury bank cards?

Our Matte-Black cards weigh 25 grams with a stainless steel core and black oxide coating. That’s heavier than Chase Sapphire (12g) or Amex Centurion (14g). We’re the real deal.

Will my metal card work in ATMs and swipers?

Yes. Our cards meet standard thickness requirements and work in most ATMs and swipe terminals. Rare exceptions may occur with Square/iPad readers.

Do you offer military, veteran, or law enforcement discounts?

Yes! All verified service members receive a 20% discount. Submit redacted proof (VA ID, DD-214, etc.) to [email protected] before ordering.

What happens to my EMV chip during the upgrade?

We remove and transplant the chip from your original card to the new metal card. This ensures full EMV compatibility at chip readers and ATMs.

Do I have to purchase the EMV Chip Swap™ service?

If your plastic card has an EMV chip, we strongly recommend it. Without it, your metal card won’t work at chip-only merchants or ATMs.

I’m still confused—what happens if I don’t get the chip swap?

Without the chip, terminals will force a chip insert after the swipe. If your metal card lacks a chip, the transaction will fail at those merchants.

How do I know you don’t store my credit card number?

We use offline workstations for programming and do not store or transmit any card data. Our system is modeled after PCI-DSS security standards used in banking.

Will the metal card show wear or scratches?

All cards show some wear over time, but our engravings are permanent. Our coating resists scratches better than plastic. Warranty covers any manufacturing defect.

Can I pay instantly on your website?

No. For fraud protection, we process payments manually using PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Zelle, or Bitcoin. You’ll receive secure instructions after submitting your order.
